Narrow Aisle Lift trucks
Several lift trucks are especially made to fit down very narrow aisles in a warehouse. These models are referred to as narrow aisle forklifts. They can negotiate smaller aisles easily and enable you to enjoy some advantages. For example, the increased amount of space to keep objects can greatly increase the overall available stock of a company.
Narrow aisle forklifts could maneuver easily too. These machines have been specially engineered to move without a lot of space. Their different design has eliminated many of the items which are squished up into the main body of the traditional lift truck design.
The disadvantage of narrow aisle lift trucks is that they are really slow compared to regular lift trucks. Narrow aisle lift trucks would not work if you need to move objects across long distances. When it comes to speed they would not be a dependable choice. If you also have a standard lift truck, this will not be a problem. You can just use the narrow aisle lift truck to transport the load to a central location and afterward hand it off to a standard lift truck which can travel the bulk of the distance in a timely and efficient manner. Usually, narrow aisle forklifts cannot handle as much lifting weight; therefore, outside of smaller loads they are not going to be very effective.
Electric Forklifts
Traditional gas forklifts are not a suitable choice for indoor applications such as stores or warehouses. They would not be as safe due to their fumes, or as helpful or cost-efficient compared to an electric powered unit. Electric forklifts are often designed to function and look a lot like gas ones, but they utilize electric batteries which need to be recharged, rather than gasoline fuel.
Electric lift trucks are popular for a variety of reasons. For starters, they will save you lots of money on fuel costs. At first, electric units may cost more but eventually, they make up for this in the long run. For instance, when gas prices increase, you will not be affected and would save lots of cash. Electric units tend to last somewhat a bit longer than gas powered models too. This is partly due to the fact they are mainly used indoors and thus don't get as dirty or work in as harsh environments as the gas powered units. Electric models are healthier to use in poorly ventilated places such as indoor applications and warehouses because they don't emit noxious fumes. It could be very dangerous to utilize gas or diesel lift trucks inside.
The electric forklift does have some disadvantages like the fact that they can really only work for roughly 8 hours. Then the machinery will have to be charged for 8 hours and rested for another 8 hours. Many companies get around this situation by purchasing a spare battery so they can have less downtime and continually cycle them. There are fast charge batteries emerging on the market which are also reducing the charging time.
