Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is used for lifting and lowering loaded pallets from high storage spaces. This type is recommended for work environments with narrow spaces between aisles, like for instance retail establishments or warehouses. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires that make maneuvering easy.
The operator of this particular type of forklift usually stands up in a small cockpit. The stand-up design allows the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift usually has three tires: one in the back, and two in the front. This configuration enables for fast and easy maneuvering. There are some models of these forklifts that are available with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment could pivot to the sides, permitting the lift to be operated without the operator having to reposition the entire machine. The sit-down model usually has four wheels.
Many narrow aisle forklifts are powered with an electric engine. Machines that are electrically powered are quiet and do not produce exhaust fumes, making them the preferred choice for closed areas like for example retail spaces. Several lifts come with a diesel engine or a gas engine. Then again, the diesel version is not suggested to be utilized indoors since it could produce exhaust and be quite noisy.
