Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various kinds of sources that could power forklifts. They could run using liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various applications. There are various facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which are able to be changed out when the machine must be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must truly be careful so as to prevent possible serious injuries. For instance: be certain to put on the correct safety equipment such as heavy gloves, goggles or safety glasses. Turn off the forklift ignition prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Keep in mind that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
