Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Colorado

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are utilized to transport things and supplies around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks that are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight includes a pump that can lift the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by one individual.

Pallet trucks should be operated with care in order to prevent loss of control while raising heavy loads. Equipment must be inspected prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Check that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet must be carefully stacked to ensure that nothing would fall off during transportation.

In order to lower the forks and release air in the pump, squeeze the lever located on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be at the center to be able to guarantee even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has fully cleared the ground. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is dangerous to push the pallet in front of you since the thrust can cause it to go out of control. Slowly take turns and don't attempt to stop abruptly. Stop slowly, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
