Classifications of Scissor Lifts & Aerial Lift Platforms
Aerial platforms and scissor lifts allow employees to work on elevated structures because they could reach a lot of things and structures. These lifts provide friendly user controls which enable to independently operate the platform from the base. This enables the machine to access things. There are many available lift designs which are suited for particular applications and settings.
Scissor Lift
Utilizing a series of crisscrossed linked steel arms, the scissor lift is designed to create an X patterned support system when the lift is raised vertically. Workers utilize a big rectangle platform which is connected to the top of the lifting device. There are support railings along the edges to provide added protection.
The scissor lift features a low profile which is ideal for hard and compact dirt surfaces, concrete and pavement. These machinery use either an electric motor or a combustion engine to power the lift and the lifting device.
Rough Terrain Scissor Lift
The rough terrain scissor lift uses the same lifting technology as the standard scissor lift model. The rough terrain model differs in that it features a specialized base that is designed for surfaces that are not even. The rough terrain even provides all terrain oversized tires and a higher ground clearance. These models provide lower lifting heights overall due to the higher center of gravity of the machinery.
Telescopic Boom Lift
The telescopic boom lift provides a telescoping beam which rises both vertically and diagonally. This machinery provides a small work platform outfitted with controls to operate the boom. The controls utilize an IC or a combustion engine in order to power the hydraulics and lift the boom.
Articulating Boom Lift
An articulating boom lift has two telescopic booms which are attached with a moving elbow. This lifting equipment offers a small work platform or a bucket equipped with hand controls that are used to control the boom. The articulating lift could reach on top buildings and over things.
